To House Speaker Paul Ryan:

The public needs to know what's happening in government. Journalists must be able to keep an eye on Congress — whether elected officials are speaking, voting or protesting. Your refusal to let C-SPAN broadcast is obstructing democracy.

We need to stay informed but you're leaving us in the dark.

We demand that you turn on the cameras and let us see what's happening.

Tell House Speaker Paul Ryan: Turn on the Cameras Now

UPDATE: House Democrats have ended the sit-in, but that doesn't change the fact that House Speaker Paul Ryan shut down the cameras to keep the public from watching. You can still send a message to his office by signing this petition.

House Democrats are staging a historic sit-in on the House floor right now to force a vote on gun control, but you can’t watch it.

Why? Because House Speaker Paul Ryan turned the cameras off as soon as it started, leaving C-SPAN — which normally broadcasts the daily happenings in Congress — out in the cold.
