To Congress:

Trump wants to axe funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the entity that oversees distribution of federal money to hundreds of public radio and television stations around the country.

This is outrageous. Years of public polling show that the American people consider support for public broadcasting to be among the most important uses of their tax dollars. Local public stations and community news are among the few remaining outlets to serve the needs of diverse communities so often overlooked by mainstream commercial outlets.

We demand that you stop the Trump administration's plan to destroy public broadcasting.

Tell Congress: Don't Let Trump Destroy NPR and PBS

On March 16, the Trump administration released its budget outline for 2018, complete with a plan to axe funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds hundreds of local NPR and PBS stations around the country along with many public-media programs.1

This could mean no more NewsHour, no more Frontline, and no more Democracy Now! on your local station.

This is outrageous. Years of public polling show that the American people consider support for public broadcasting to be among the most important uses of their tax dollars.2 Local public stations and community news are among the few places that provide actual reporting. After an election in which fake news was rampant and cable-news networks refused to call out racism, the last thing we need is an attack on public broadcasting.

We've saved public media from cuts many times before. We can save it again — but only if we raise an outcry.
