Meet Us on June 19 at the New Jersey Statehouse

Time is running out. As we speak, lawmakers in Trenton are debating the NJ Civic Info Bill (A4933/S3303), which would allocate $100 million over five years to revive, strengthen and reinvent local news and information across New Jersey.

We’ve built incredible momentum thanks to supporters like you who have been calling and emailing lawmakers around the state. We have a real shot at winning — but there are powerful forces at work who want to use the money for every purpose EXCEPT keeping you informed about what’s happening in your community.

We need to pass this bill before June 30! Are you in?

Meet us on June 19 at the New Jersey Statehouse to speak directly with legislators and urge them to support this bill. Here are the event details:

What: New Jersey Civic Info Bill Lobby Day
    When: Mon., June 19, from 9 a.m.3 p.m.

Where: 125 West State St., Trenton. Meet up at Cafe NJ inside the statehouse.

We’ll huddle up in the morning, then spend the day letting lawmakers know about the real-life impact of news and information all the ways that our families, our businesses, our schools and our entire communities depend on local reporting to make educated decisions.

Standing alongside fellow activists from across the state, you’ll get to engage in direct conversation with the lawmakers who represent your interests. It’s democracy in action!

Come to the statehouse on June 19 and speak up for the Civic Info Bill. With your help, we can win this fight.
