To Jack Dorsey:

Donald Trump has used Twitter to foment hate and violence against people of color for years. It is past time for you to enforce your own policies.

You have recently taken important steps to stop the president’s spread of misinformation and glorifications of violence. These are steps in the right direction, but they aren’t enough. It’s time to enforce your own policies and shut down Donald Trump’s account. Every day that you fail to take this action is another day that you’ve endorsed the president’s repeated violations of your own policies — and deepened his harm of Black lives.

Thank you.

Trump Has Repeatedly Violated Twitter’s Terms of Service: Tell Jack to Ban Trump

Donald Trump has used Twitter to foment hate and violence against people of color for years. And since November, he’s tweeted countless lies about his election loss — and urged his supporters to fight back. On Jan. 6, 2021, hundreds of Trump extremists did just that when they stormed the Capitol building.

After Trump tweeted support of the insurrectionists, Twitter responded with a mere 12-hour suspension of the president’s account. That’s barely a slap on the wrist: It’s past time for Twitter to ban Trump for inciting violence and subverting our democracy.

Trump has a powerful megaphone on Twitter. As long as the company is allowing Trump’s account to remain, it’s endangering its users.

Tell Twitter to permanently ban Donald Trump.
