To Members of Congress:

Data brokers are exploiting a privacy loophole to help government agencies violate the Fourth Amendment by purchasing location-tracking data on people all over the United States without a warrant. This violates fundamental privacy rights. Please co-sponsor and pass the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act to close this loophole.

Tell Congress: #HandsOffMyData. Pass the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, we need to move fast to address the risks we now face.

Right now data brokers have access to unprecedented amounts of information about us — what we do, where we go, and with whom is in the hands of tech companies and brokers that are all too willing to sell this information to the highest bidder.

This includes law-enforcement agencies — and they don’t even need a warrant. By exploiting a legal loophole, authorities can purchase all kinds of information about you, from location data to your browsing and search history.

As states across the country are rapidly outlawing abortion, we have to stop private companies from selling information like the location data of people visiting abortion clinics.

Here’s the good news: The Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act has bipartisan support and would close this loophole and make it illegal for brokers to sell our data to law enforcement and government agencies.

Tell your members of Congress to pass the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act to close this loophole and protect our data privacy.
