To Fox News, iHeart Radio, Sinclair and Other TV and Radio Stations:

It is unlawful for broadcasters to intentionally distort the news in a way that causes substantial public harm. But that’s what is happening right now with coverage of coronavirus in the United States.

Radio hosts like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh have used the airwaves to spread false information about the COVID-19 crisis. And television stations are airing President Trump’s dangerous misinformation live without providing a disclaimer. This has arguably cost people their lives. The public needs television and radio stations to stop airing lies about coronavirus. We are calling on you to stop the spread of misinformation on your stations.

We need TV and radio stations to act before even more lives are lost.

Tell Fox News, iHeart Radio, Sinclair and Other TV and Radio Stations to Stop the Spread of Misinformation About Coronavirus

Misinformation about COVID-19 could cost people their lives. And now local Sinclair stations across the country are airing a segment that features the discredited conspiracy theorist behind the "Plandemic" video, which went viral earlier this year and was removed from platforms like YouTube.

This has been going on for months. Notoriously racist radio hosts Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and other right-wing broadcasters downplayed the coronavirus in the early weeks of the crisis. We’ve called on the FCC to do its job and help stop the spread of misinformation no matter where it’s coming from, but the agency is refusing to enforce its own rules and hold broadcasters accountable.1

If the Trump FCC won’t step in and stop the spread of deadly misinformation about coronavirus, we the people must hold TV and radio stations accountable for what they air.

Sign the petition: Tell TV and radio stations to do the right thing and stop the spread of misinformation about COVID-19 on the airwaves NOW.
