The Trump FCC’s proposal to destroy Lifeline and disconnect millions of struggling people from affordable phone and internet access is cruel, immoral and opposed by people at every part of the political spectrum. Nonetheless, Chairman Ajit Pai is pushing forward — so it’s time for us to push back.
Join activists, advocates and others united against all attacks on the poor as we speak out to save Lifeline on Sept. 26 in Washington, D.C.
What: Speakout to Save Lifeline
When: Wed., Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. EDT
Where: FCC headquarters, 445 12th St. SW, Washington, D.C.
Who: Activists, advocates and others united against all attacks on the poor
We’ll gather outside FCC headquarters to share our stories and emphasize what’s at stake. Together, we’ll issue a clear call to Trump, Pai and everyone else in the nation’s capital: Communication and connection are basic human rights.
We must #SaveLifeline because it is the right and moral thing to do.
If you’re unable to join us in Washington, D.C., this event will be livestreamed at facebook.com/freepress. RSVP now so you’ll receive a reminder when the speakout gets started.
Please note that photography and video recording will take place at this event.
