    What's the Story Charlotte?

Join us in Charlotte on April 18

Every day there are new headlines about migration and immigration. It’s a hot-button issue that many of us are discussing — but how does local news shape the conversation in the Queen City? And how are our most-impacted neighbors getting important updates and information?

News Voices: North Carolina and the Charlotte Observer want to hear your perspective.

Join us for an interactive small-group discussion between community members and journalists on April 18 in Charlotte. We’ll meet in the Asbury Activity Room at Aldersgate on 3800 Shamrock Drive at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:15).

This is not a panel. Repeat: This is NOT a panel discussion. This event is designed as an opportunity for community members to sit down for direct conversation with local journalists.

Media coverage of immigration stories often focuses on the people observing the issue, or those working as allies to migrant people. In this discussion, we’ll explore how local journalism can serve those who are directly impacted by decisions and practices around immigration and migration.

Join us. Let’s work together to serve, dream and shape the future of Charlotte news.

Accessibility Notes: This space has no stairs. The room is apart of a larger building, where people use various scents, but we won't be using any scents during our time together. There will not be a separate children's area, but children are welcome to attend and either participate or spend their time elsewhere in the room doing something different.
