Keep the Villains on the Screen: Tell Disney to Dump Trump
Nineteen corporate leaders sit on Trump’s business council — including Disney CEO Bob Iger. Today, we join our allies at Muslim Advocates and Color Of Change in urging Iger to #QuitTheCouncil and reject Trump and his despicable Muslim ban.
Last week, refugees and migrants were detained across the country and denied access to lawyers while tens of thousands of people rallied at airports and the White House and called for an end to Trump's Islamophobic executive order on immigration.
Media companies should serve and represent their audiences, not support racist policies that have wrongfully detained hundreds of people. By cooperating with Trump, Disney is endorsing his bigotry. We won’t stand for that.
This kind of pressure works: On Feb. 2, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick left Trump’s business council after calls to #DeleteUber rattled the company. And Disney’s Bob Iger is already skipping council meetings, but he needs to quit altogether.
Urge Disney’s CEO to stand up to hate and quit Trump’s business council.
