To Majority Leader Schumer:

The FCC has been deadlocked since the beginning of the Biden administration but now we have a chance to finally get a fully functioning agency. We need an FCC that has the votes to safeguard against ISP abuses, expand affordable internet access, restore Title II Net Neutrality protections and promote diverse media ownership. The public’s ability to connect and communicate hinges on your swift confirmation of Anna Gomez and Geoffrey Starks.

Please hold a floor vote on these nominees before the August recess.

Tell Majority Leader Schumer: Hold a Floor Vote for FCC Nominees Before the August Recess!

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has remained in an unprecedented 2–2 deadlock since January 2021, the result of efforts by the phone, cable and broadcast lobbies to hamstring the agency that oversees their businesses. After years of advocacy from Free Press Action and our allies, we finally have our best chance yet to get a fully functional FCC.

Now that the Senate Commerce Committee has approved both candidates, the full Senate needs to confirm nominee Anna Gomez and reconfirm Commissioner Geoffrey Starks to ensure that the FCC can act to improve the lives of internet users, cellphone customers, TV watchers and radio listeners before time runs out.

We need Majority Leader Schumer to act: Add your name to our petition urging Schumer to hold a floor vote for FCC nominees Gomez and Starks before the August recess.
