The FCC just broke the law. Chairman Brendan Carr approved a merger that would give Nexstar control of 265 TV stations reaching 80 percent of U.S. households, more than double the legal limit Congress set. He didn’t even hold a public vote.
Free Press petitioned the FCC to deny this merger and led a broad coalition of labor unions and civil-rights groups opposing the deal. Eight state attorneys general have filed an antitrust lawsuit to stop it. We’re fighting this decision at the agency, in the courts and in Congress.
We don’t take a cent from business, government or political parties, so we depend on you to keep the pressure on. Your gift today helps us fight until this unlawful deal is dead.
