To the House of Representatives:

The American Data Privacy and Protection Act (ADPPA) is a powerful bipartisan privacy bill that would protect our digital civil rights. I am writing to urge you to support the ADPPA and to call on Speaker Pelosi to move this bill forward.

Our data is often used without our knowledge or consent in ways that create discriminatory digital experiences for people. It’s long overdue for Congress to protect our digital civil rights by passing robust privacy legislation — and the window is closing on the possibility of making this happen in 2022. We need you to act without further delay.

TAKE ACTION: Urge the House to Pass the American Data Privacy and Protection Act

Congress is back in session after a long midterm-election recess, and we have a window of opportunity to move an important bill that would protect our digital civil rights. This bill must move to a full vote in the House of Representatives.

The American Data Privacy and Protection Act (ADPPA) passed out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee earlier this year with a huge margin of support on both sides of the aisle. This bill would prohibit online platforms and other entities from collecting, processing and sharing people’s data in ways that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or disability. Add your name to our petition calling on the House to pass the American Data Privacy and Protection Act as soon as possible.
