    Fix the Feed

Social-media companies profit by promoting the most dangerous kinds of disinformation. The growing disinformation crisis is causing irreparable damage to our democracy and our society — and these companies must take action to fix it before the 2022 midterm elections.

We know that online hate and disinformation disproportionately harm communities of color. And companies know how to fix what’s wrong with their platforms, reduce harms, and change the terms that govern how we use their products.

We’ve made it easy for companies to do better by outlining exactly the steps they need to take — but we need your help.

The Change the Terms coalition, led by Free Press, is demanding that social-media companies:

    • Fix the Algorithm: Stop promoting the most incendiary, hateful content
    • Protect People Equally: Staff up to protect democracy for all, across all languages
    • Show Us the Receipts: Disclose your business models and moderation practices

Join us and demand that Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube stop the spread of hateful, violent, misleading and false content across all languages in the runup to the 2022 elections and beyond. It’s past time for these companies to change the terms.
