To FCC Commissioners:

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should not be the White House’s media censor — and yet the investigation Chairman Carr opened into CBS for “news distortion” is blatant censorship.

To protect our democracy, journalists and media outlets must be allowed to report the news without interference from the government. Editing interviews for length and clarity is standard journalistic practice. This sham investigation into CBS disregards the First Amendment and is extremely chilling for reporters who are just doing their jobs trying to educate the public.

The FCC must cease and desist with this flagrant attack on the First Amendment and the freedom of the press.

    Resist Censorship

Tell the FCC: No More Intimidation and Censorship

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr is going after CBS for purely partisan reasons — casting aside First Amendment rights in pursuit of an authoritarian remaking of this nation. The agency is supposed to be independent — and should not exist simply as a tool of the Trump administration’s war on its critics.

Demand that the FCC stop its campaign of intimidation and censorship.
