To the U.S. Senate:

The Biden White House has nominated tremendous public-interest champions to head the Federal Communications Commission, elevating Jessica Rosenworcel to chair the agency and Gigi Sohn to fill the fifth and final commissioner’s spot.

For nearly a year the FCC has been deadlocked and unable to start many of the bold rulemakings it needs to pursue. We need a fully staffed agency to move on those priorities as soon as possible.

There’s so much we need the FCC to do. The agency must ensure that the billions Congress has invested in broadband actually reach those who need it most. It should restore its authority to regulate broadband and adopt robust Net Neutrality rules. It's also critical that the FCC reckon with media regulators’ history on race and ensure our communications infrastructure can withstand the climate emergency.

We urge you to confirm Rosenworcel and Sohn without delay.

Tell the Senate to Confirm Biden’s FCC Nominees and Get the Agency Up and Running

After a very long wait, the White House has named public-interest champions to lead and fill the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) — removing the interim tag from Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel’s job description, and naming Gigi Sohn to fill the fifth and final commissioner’s spot.

For nearly a year the FCC has been deadlocked and unable to start many of the bold rulemakings it needs to pursue. After the damage of the Trump era, we need the agency fully staffed and ready to pass public-interest policies as soon as possible.

But none of this vital work can happen until the Senate confirms Biden’s nominees. Urge the Senate to confirm Rosenworcel and Sohn without delay.
