To the Senate:

Data brokers are exploiting a privacy loophole for profit. They're helping law-enforcement agencies violate our constitutional Fourth Amendment rights and purchase location-tracking data on people all over the United States without a warrant. This violates fundamental privacy rights. Please co-sponsor and pass the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act to close this loophole.

Urge the Senate to Pass the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act

Right now, law-enforcement and immigration agencies like the FBI and ICE are violating our constitutional rights by purchasing our online data — including our location and search histories — without a warrant.

How? They’re making an end-run around the Fourth Amendment — which is supposed to prohibit law-enforcement agencies from carrying out unlawful searches and seizures — by buying our sensitive information from third-party brokers that exploit our data for profit.

But Congress can take action: There is currently bipartisan support to prohibit these practices with the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act. The House passed this bill in April.1 It’s urgent your senators hear from you to get this legislation over the finish line: Add your name today.
