While we understand the need for quality journalism to be financially supported, we believe this moment calls for media to perform their public service of keeping all people, regardless of whether they can pay for it, informed. We are calling on you to drop your paywalls immediately so that everyone can access up-to-date, reliable and accurate information about how to keep themselves and our communities safe and healthy during this public health crisis.

Tell the Boston Globe and the L.A. Times to Stop Charging for Coronavirus Coverage

We are in the midst of a global pandemic where many major outlets — New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and more — have dropped their paywalls for updates on the coronavirus pandemic. Given the patchwork federal response, getting up-to-date reliable local information is critical and we applaud these papers for putting aside their business model to better serve the public.

Unfortunately, two of the largest papers in the country, the Boston Globe and the Los Angeles Times, are still keeping their coronavirus coverage locked behind a paywall.

Tell the Boston Globe and the L.A. Times to completely drop the paywall for all coronavirus coverage.
