To Congress:

Public-media outlets in the United States are consistently rated among the most-trusted media sources in public-opinion surveys. Our nation’s public-media system produces great journalism but is one of the most poorly funded in the world.

Drastic cuts to that funding would do little for government efficiency but would have a grave impact on constituents across the country. The shifting balance of power in Washington should not jeopardize the news programming and children’s entertainment that your constituents value.

Please reject all efforts to defund public media.

Tell Congress to Preserve Funding for Public Media

Don’t Let Trump Destroy Public Media

Trump’s cronies have launched a war on public media from multiple fronts. The Federal Communications Commission just opened a baseless investigation into NPR and PBS to intimidate the networks. This comes after Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” advocated for completely defunding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Cutting public broadcasting is a clear authoritarian tactic that’s designed to crack down on honest news coverage that could hold the administration accountable — like what you’d find on NPR’s All Things Considered and PBS NewsHour.

Urge Congress to protect public media.
