Want to Help Start a Radio Station?
Here's your chance to launch a local radio station! The Federal Communications Commission will accept applications for new Low Power FM stations from Oct. 15–29, 2013. LPFM stations are small noncommercial stations run by nonprofit organizations and community groups.
Starting a station is a big undertaking, but we're here to help.
Free Press is helping qualified applicants by working with organizations like the Prometheus Radio Project to:
- Provide resources and documents about LPFM.
- Assist with organizations' applications.
- Provide information about other groups in your area that might be applying for licenses.
- Clarify complicated policy concerns.
